Polyvore Collages are Fun to do.

I've talked about Polyvore in my blog in the past.  I love making collages there.    Here is my latest one so showcase the holiday season with the color red.

If you haven't tried Polyvore, you should give it a go. It's fun and easy and a neat way to spend a bit of time creating something pretty to share.

Jewelry Find of the Week - Fabulous Red Rhinestone Domed Brooch

Sellers of vintage jewelry know that no color draws in the lookers like red does. There is something so regal and appealing about it. And it's not just for Christmas or Valentine's day. Red is perfect year round.

Today's jewelry find is the fabulous red rhinestone brooch in a domed star shape. It has so much going for it. The brooch is set in a black japanned finish and has a combination of marquis and chaton rhinestones and cabochons which rise to a pretty domed top.

The size is 2" wide with a 7/8" dome. All prong set and glass stones - this gorgeous red rhinestone brooch is available in my Vintage Jewelry Lane store for only $55.99.

Today's Vintage Jewelry Color - Red

One of the great things about jewelry is that you can coordinate it to all your wardrobe choices - and vintage jewelry is no exception. There is no need to stick to plain gold and silver; vintage jewelry comes in a myriad of color choices and they are available in all types of jewelry. Look at this sweet ladybug figural pin by Trifari. What a perfect choice it is for spring!

I had a quick look through my Carolina Collections Vintage Jewelry store to see what I currently have available for red jewelry. And for those of you who think red is a seasonal color. It's not. Red is not just for Christmas and Valentine's day. It is one of the hottest jewelry colors year round!

Here is a small selection of necklaces, earrings, bracelets, pendants and rings - all at bargain prices. You can view these pieces plus many more from the selection of vintage red jewelry in my ebay store.

I also have lots of red jewelry choices at Vintage Jewelry Lane and Vintage Jewelry Mall. Just type in "red" in the search box on the main landing page.

Jewelry and Astrology - Aquarius

I think it is fun to read my horoscope and sites that talk about astrology and the Zodiac signs. I thought it would be kind of neat to do a series about jewelry choices for each of the zodiac signs.

Since it is February, the Zodiac sign that I'll discuss is Aquarius - those born between January 20 and February 18.

Those born under the sign of Aquarius are said to be friendly by nature, independent thinkers with original and creative thoughts. They are highly inventive and often humanitarian. On the negative side, they are thought to be somewhat rebellious and eccentric and can be a bit unpredictable and stubborn.

If you have an Aquarian friend, you might find her adventurous with a sensitive nature, so that her feelings get easily hurt.

We can get a clue about what type of jewelry might suit an Aquarian by some of these zodiac facts about the sign:
  • Turquoise is the primary color
  • The birthstone is garnet or amethyst
  • Lucky numbers are 8 and 4
  • Lucky colors and blue and green in pastel shades

Combining some of these ideas gives me lots of possibilities to suggest for jewelry for an Aquarian. How about Native American Jewelry? The designs often include imitation or genuine turquoise stones with sterling silver, and the colors blue and green both fit into this idea - turquoise comes in both the traditional color and also green turquoise.

How can you use the numbers to help you make a jewelry choice? Necklaces with more than one row would do the trick. How about selecting a blue or green multi strand necklace? If you choose one with four or eight rows of beads, you would make her a very lucky gal. This pretty set from West Germany has the loveliest pastel green beads and matching earrings.

Amethyst and garnet jewelry is plentiful, but can be expensive. What about purple or blood red rhinestone jewelry for the same look but at a fraction of the price? This lovely parure features amethyst colors and is so reasonably priced at only $13.50 for all three pieces.

Be sure to check back soon, when I will discuss jewelry possibilities for those born under the sign of Pisces.
