My Daughter Jess Brings the Latest European Fashion Trends to This Blog

Those of you who have been to my Facebook page know that my daughter Jess has left the US today to travel to Great Britain.  She will be at Hull University studying until about Christmas.

Before she left, I spoke to her about all of the social networking that I have been doing lately on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google + and other sites.  Jess came up with a great idea for my blog and which should delight my readers.

Jess is very interested in fashion and has a really keen eye for what is up to the minute in the latest trends.  She volunteered to do some blog postings for my blog while she is away about the current fashion trends in all parts of Great Britain and Europe.

This should be starting very soon, and I will keep you updated as it all unfolds.  I'm very excited that she wants to help her mom out with the blog and look forward to the insights that she will bring us.

She is an avid user of Pinterest and has several boards there mainly about fashion, cooking and household decoration.  I expect that number to soar and she finds interesting things to add to my blog and to her Pinterest favorites boards.

I'm eagerly awaiting her photos of fashion trends to see how they compare to the ones that are current here in the USA.

Right now she is en route from Washington, DC and will arrive in the UK at noon tomorrow.  Check back soon to see what she has to share.  I, for one, can't wait!

Do you like Gardening? Check out my new blog

Readers of my blog know that I love to share information and my experiences about vintage jewelry.  But most of you may not know that my other passion in life is gardening.  I just can't get enough of it.

It's been on the back burner for many years as life's demand took the forefront, but has come back with a vengeance this past spring and summer and is here to stay.

I've started writing about my efforts, some great, some not so great, and many quite amusing, in my new blog called The Week Long Gardener.

If you love gardening, or think it might be something you might want to start doing, but sure to have a look at my blog.  It is meant to be light hearted, but will also have lots of tips and tricks about all things gardening.  Perhaps we can share stories and get to know each other better.

You can view the first posting of the my new gardening blog here.  I hope to be able to find the time to write to it quite often.

Off to dig in the dirt!

It's Necklace time at Carolina Collections

I spent the afternoon today preparing listings for my ebay store:  Carolina Collections Vintage Jewelry.  This week, I concentrated on necklaces since I recently purchased a large estate lot with lots of interesting glass necklaces.

I'll be listing them over the next few days in my shop.  Here are some of the designs.  They range in price from about $15 to $50.  Many are glass with multi strands.  I particularly like the Monet pastel colored one in the first photo.  The colors are just right for summer.

The second design is a very collectible piece by Kenneth Lane for Avon.  It's called Midnight Rose.   You can see the whole range in my store.

Fabulous Blue Art Glass Necklace just listed at Etsy

I've been listing today in my new Etsy store, Vintage Jewelry Lane.  Just had to give a sneak peek at this lovely necklace from Japan.

It is so romantic and feminine and the perfect color choice for Summer.  It's set in silver tone metal and has the most lovely combination of glass and art glass beads in such a pretty combination of blues.

Just $24.  Only one available.

Vintage Jewelry Lane Now Open At Etsy

I have just opened a new shop at Etsy.  The shop is named after my main web store - Vintage Jewelry Lane.

The shop is in its infancy but I have been adding items daily and will continue to do so until I have about 500 items for sale.  All items will be vintage, which Etsy considers to be at least 20 years old.  The shop will feature designer and rhinestone pieces with many items from the 1970s and 1980s, which seem to fit best with the other stores at Etsy, time wise.

Prices are very affordable, with most items in the $10-$30 range.

Be sure to check daily to see what is new at Vintage Jewelry Lane at Esty!  You can also view my latest items listed in the app on the side bar of this blog.

Here are a few of the first listings.  There will be many more to come over the summer months.
