Vintage jewelry is lovely to wear, of course. However, there are times when you may find yourself with a bit of this and a bit of that - mismatched pieces of jewelry, broken pins, or otherwise unwearable jewelry items, what do you do with them?
You may immediately think "throw them in the trash bin." But hold on...don't throw those pieces away just yet. There are several cute things that you can do with single earrings, a pretty pin which has lost its clasp and other pieces of vintage jewelry.
Here are a few DIY craft projects that can turn what would otherwise be called trash into a lovely hand made treasure.
This lovely Christmas wreath was made by using a foam base which was covered in a Christmas garland and embellished with a few enamel flower pins very popular in the 1970s. Have a look at the bow on the top. That is a single beaded earring very similar to those made by Japan and Hong Kong in the 1950s and 60s. What a sweet accent!
And how adorable is the beautifully embellished clutch purse. It is covered with bits and pieces of old vintage earrings and vintage pins for a stunning effect.

I am a reader and am always on the lookout for new book marks. These DIY bookmarks were made by using vintage brooches. I especially love the cameo pin bookmark. Cameos are my favorite type of vintage pin.

Have you priced decorative photo frames lately? If you have, you will know just how pricey they can be. Why not use vintage jewelry pieces to decorate a plain picture frame yourself. This plain brown frame was embellished with a hot glue gun and pieces from old rhinestone vintage pins.
