2009 NY Antique Jewelry and Watch Show Opens Soon

The New York Antique Jewelry and Watch Show is just around the corner. The event will take place on July 24 – 27 2009 at the Metropolitan Pavilion. Jewelry shows are plentiful, but not many have the distinction of showing pieces with such rarity and such an array of designers. The show gathers 100 of the most distinguished antique jewelers in the United States, Canada, South and Central America, Europe and Asia, and will showcase their stunning collections.

According to the Antique Jewelry Show website, the pieces on display will include signed pieces, rings, necklaces and diamonds from the Georgian through the Art deco periods, engraved antique watches, cameos and much much more.

The display of intriguing and rare antique pieces will range from Castellani and Guiliano, to 19th and 20th century masters, such as Louis Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Tiffany and Harry Winston and others. There will also be a wide variety of antique and vintage watches on show from Cartier, Patek Philippe, Rolex, and many others.

Since I love dog jewelry, I couldn't resist showcasing thhe piece featured here. It is a Van Cleef & Arpels 18K yellow gold Yorkie Brooch which is set with a cabochon onyx. The piece is circa 1965 - and will be represented by D.K. Bressler & Co Booth 115.

According to the site, one of the featured exhibitors will be New York-based estate jeweler Camilla Dietz Bergeron. According to the site, she and her business partner, Gus Davis, have spent the past 16 years building Camilla Dietz Bergeron, Ltd.: a niche business that buys and sells antique, period and estate jewelry.

With styles like the following two pieces, I can see why the Pavillon is featuring their jewelry.
